Should you keep your vehicle regularly serviced (usually every 10,000km's or each 12 months, whichever comes first) will drastically limit the inconvenience of vehicle breakdown, but should the unforeseen happen, we are here to help.
In most cases you will notice a problem developing in your vehicle well before your car actually comes to a stop. Should fuel or oil consumption increase, your vehicle becomes hard to start, the engine runs rough while idling or driving, an unusual noise appears, or anything outside of the normal, it is wise that you book your vehicle in for an inspection.
Almost all car problems in infancy stage are far less expensive to fix, than if you were to allow a problem to continue to escalate unchecked. This can cause serious damage to your vehicle, and turn a mostly inexpensive repair into a costly one.
So if somethings not right, pick up your phone and give us a call. We service all makes and models of motor vehicles
Car Air-Conditioning systems need servicing approximately every 2 years (most air conditioning systems lose approx. 10-15% per year of refrigerant gas).
This service involves discharging, recharging & lubricating your refrigerant system. Also testing your air conditioning compressor oil if applicable and changing if necessary.
Automatic Transmission Servicing
Automatic transmissions need flushing & servicing every 40,000kms.
Automatic transmissions typically fail due to internally overheating. This is usually a direct result of poor maintenance.
Automatic Transmission servicing will help extending the life of your transmission and in most cases providing smoother gear changes. We only use Premium high grade fully synthetic transmission fluid.
Clutch Service – This involves checking the free play (adjustment) in the clutch cable and adjusting if necessary, checking the clutch fluid (hydraulic system) and road testing vehicle.
Clutch Repairs / Replacements – If your car clutch needs repairs or replacements we can diagnose and repair / replace if necessary.
If your brakes are squealing, pulling the vehicle to one side or making your steering wheel shake, then it’s time to have them inspected.
Brakes can degrade slowly due to simple wear and tear, which can make it difficult for vehicle owners to see the changes. We can test your braking system and make any repairs necessary. Brake hoses and fluid can also be checked and replaced if necessary
Car Batteries are a common source of issues with a car.
We stock Century Car Batteries. A new battery is supplied with a 3 year warranty
With a car battery tester we are able to assess your batteries condition and find out how much life is left in it.
Exhaust and Mufflers
A clean car exhaust system is a sign that your vehicle is running well. If your car exhaust seems loud or is dirty, it’s best to get it checked out.
It will only take us a few moments to check your exhaust system, and exhaust inspections are included in all vehicle services. We check to ensure your car exhaust system is not leaking, which can lead to carbon monoxide fumes being released inside your vehicle.
Engine Management & Emission Teating
Are you spending too much money on petrol & wearing out your engine prematurely?
Are you adding to the pollution levels in New Zealand? (Hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide)?
Do you want to reduce harmful emissions into our environment?
We have the latest technology to test your vehicle.
You should have an oil change regularly, regardless of how many kilometres the vehicle has driven. If a vehicle is not used much, the oil in the engine still needs to be flushed and replaced. Old oil can degrade an engine, even when the vehicle is sitting in the garage.
We always remain available to give you and your vehicle the best service and advice regarding all aspects of your vehicle.
Radiator Repairs and Radiator Flush
A Radiator is vital to the health of your engine, ensuring that it does not overheat and maintains an optimum operating temperature.
A Radiator cools the liquid that in turns cools your engine, thereby maintaining the correct operating temperature. A Radiator has a large surface area of thin fins for the liquid to pass though, over time these can be damaged by stones, filled with dirt and bugs or the plastic tanks attached to most radiators these days can crack with the constant heating and cooling during normal use.
Suspension, Shocks and Steering
Your vehicles suspension keeps the cars tyres in contact with the road surface, and eliminates road shock.
Shock absorbers are a key part of the suspension system.
Steering – Is your vehicle veering to one side when the steering wheel is straight? Or if you can hear noises when your vehicle is turning, you may have a suspension issue or it may also be a Wheel Alignment issue.
Cambelt / Timing Belt
A cambelt /timing belt is situated in the front or side of your engine behind the plastic cambelt cover.
This belt has been designed to reduce friction and generate more horse power than previous component called the Timing Chain.
This belt should be changed every 100,000kms or 5 years, whatever comes first. In some engines there are 2 belts; a cambelt/timing belt or a balance belt. If you are unsure contact us with your make and model and we can advise you.
Tyre and Wheel Alignment
Tread and tyre pressure are the two critical factors to tyre safety. Tyre tread will help your vehicle to grip the road surface when braking and cornering.
Driving on under-inflated tyres will use more fuel, while driving on over-inflated tyres can affect vehicle handling and overall wear.
Tyres are a routine check with all vehicle services.
